Caring for my father Member since January 28, 2011Hi there, I have been on this Site for some time, there are so many others' that are willing to help those that are new to the Site. I have seen so much more growth on the Site which is wonderful. I am a Healthcare Aide, have been for the past 10yrs. My experience in this Field has helped me so much in helping others'. I cant' say that I have an answer to everyone, there are so many ailments old/new. I care for my father-in-law who is now 81, he had a brain hemmorage in 2007 and was told that he had 18hrs. to live, I am so glad that he is still with our family and actually doing much better than anyone had thought. For those who are caring for an elderly relative I give my "hats" of to you. There are days that you feel just "burnt out" but always remember that whoever the relative is, he/she is so very thankful to be in your home and around familiar faces. There are many clients' that I have taken care of and I cant' tell you just how truly grateful they feel knowing someone cares' regardless of age or race. A friendly smile, a loving touch to those in need goes a very long way. Their are so many that dont' have family to assist them and some who cant' be bothered which is "sad". However keep in mind that not everyone can put themselves in that position, either b/c of income, or just they themselves cant' handle watching a loved one who is not well. We all cant' be that person and this is where Healthcare Aides' come in.
