Member since April 17, 2010Hi, my name is Lois. Sonia is Bob's Mom. She had a stroke in May'97 at age 76.5 that left her with no quick short term memory. Patterning is possible over time, but then also takes time to unlearn. She is also incontinent. On Warfarin, Bupropion, Furosimide, Potassium, Oxybutynin, and several supplements that we give her everyday. She is easy to comply, non complaining, but makes lots of noises when doing things. Brushing her teeth or putting in/taking out partials makes the most noise. When having bowel movement in toilet she barks. Always fearful of losing her balance, and every little thing causes her to squawk or whine. She winces for nothings. I ask her if she's okay, did anything hurt? I get no reasons. Even after 13 yrs it's frustrating that she sounds like she's being mugged when we're just taking care of her. I tell her everything in advance so that it is less of a big deal. But still so much noise happens. My weight is a problem for me and I have gone from 155 to 195 over the course of this 13 years, 3 years ago I had a total Hysterectomy - they found Ovarian Cancer, I took 6 cycles of chemo in 5 months. So far checking out okay, but I need to lose this weight and get back to being fit. Bob has lost a few pounds but needs to lose 25 more.
