Member since December 26, 2009I have been caring for my Father since 2005. We have been in multiple group homes and assisted livng facilities and have left due to lack of care that resulted in pressure sores, congestive heart failure, and his inabilty to stand. His care givers have been illegal immigrants as care givers in the past three placements. The current home located in Chandler is ran by immigrants and is involved in mortgate fraud, rent scamming, and now has moved in a 44 year old felon who has been deemend mentally incompetent by the state of AZ. After multiple attempts attempting to deal with this owner regarding the dangerous position she is placing her residets in, we have yet to reach a resolve. She apparently cares more about receiving the addtional funds the state pays for behavorial care than she does about her vulnerable aged residents. I'm still trying to understand why AZ is so backwards in licensing care givers, and monitoring elder care.
Dad has wonderful care givers in the home is is currently residing in, but is lonely, and stays in his room most of the day due to the felon in the home. The owners are corrupt to the core. Meals consists of weiners for breakfast and Bologna or p'nut butter and jelly sandwiches for dinner, Needless to say, I purchase food to prepare for his meals, but with the caregivers being undocumented, they mostly are unable to read English, which has resulted in their inability to read directions to cook or to follow a care plan. It sure would be nice if someone could tell me how AZ gets away with such criminal activity.
