daug-in-law
Caring for my mother-in-law Member since November 23, 2010I am a financial planner in Canada. My mother-in-law is in the early stages of Alzheimer's. She lives 150 miles away and my husband & I are trying to provide care 'long-distance' She is in an assisted-living apartment and the staff are very helpful at monitoring from a distance. She is in denial that she has any problems and greatly resents that home care has to come in twice a day to administer her meds. She is taking Aricept and it seems to be helping. While she is in the early stages, she has already lost 3 siblings to Alzheimer's and we suspect both her parents had Alzheimer's.
