Member since August 30, 2008Hello to All!
My caregiving began innocently 35 years ago (but by God's design). Little did I know, that my Red Cross Volunteer work in a military hospital and my job as a Ward Clerk in a county hospital would be so important, later on. I began following my parents' health 18 years ago. I promised my Mother, at her request, "No nursing home". No problem, I thought. I can cook, clean, shop, handle finances, have medical knowlege, etc. The one thing I never thought about was Dementia.
I am now the primary caregiver 24/7 for both her and my Dad, in their home. It is full care. Mom is moderate to severe Alzheimers and Dad is moderate. Both have numerous medical problems.
By God's Grace and with His help, I am able to keep my promise. To say it is not easy, is an understatement, as most of you know. It truly is a "living death" experience, that many cannot handle or begin to understand.
I will keep my promise, By God's Grace!!!! May God bless you, all!!!
