Caring.com Launches "Caring Champions" Program to Recognize and Reward Professional Caregivers of Seniors in America

Nominations Now Accepted; Featured Caregivers Could Win Cash Bonus

San Mateo, CA; June 6, 2013 -- Caring.com -- the leading senior care website for family caregivers in the United States, and the Web's #1 source of senior care reviews -- today announced that it's now accepting nominations for its new "Caring Champions" program honoring professional caregivers of seniors at home care agencies and senior living communities in the U.S.

Through June 30, Caring.com is seeking stories of extraordinary senior care highlighting the excellent work of professional caregivers. Qualified submissions will be published as articles on Caring.com in July 2013. Caring.com's online community of nearly two million monthly visitors will then cast votes for their favorites -- using social media buttons on each featured caregiver's story page -- through July 31. In August, Caring.com will announce the top ten Caring Champions, who will each receive a cash bonus -- $500 for the grand-prize winner, and $100 each for nine runner-ups.

"While we host tens of thousands of positive consumer reviews about professional senior care providers, we wanted to do something extra this summer to recognize those individuals going 'above and beyond' to serve the care needs of seniors across America," said Karen Cassel, Caring.com's executive vice president and general manager. "We thought some public recognition for a job well done -- combined with cash bonuses -- would be a great way to let professional caregivers know how much we, as well as their employers and clients, appreciate their work."

Families trust professional caregivers to provide high-quality, compassionate care for their senior loved ones -- often during a time of debilitating illness or difficult transitions and aging challenges. The Caring Champions program presents an opportunity to recognize and reward those who are doing this job best -- and help ease the search for families seeking senior care providers for their loved ones.
