Stock Your Parents' Freezer With Heart-Healthy Meals

Last updated: 21-Aug-2008

If your parents have heart problems and are living on their own, it may be difficult for them to get meals on the table, let alone prepare food that's low in sodium and saturated fats. To make it easier for them to eat healthfully, help them create and freeze enough heart-healthy meals to last a week or two. You can prepare the meals yourself and bring them over -- or enjoy cooking them together. Ask your parents' doctor or nutritionist for dietary guidelines, or visit the American Heart Association for more information.
