Return to Tip

If your parent lives alone, an emergency alert system -- often in the form of a pendant or bracelet -- will give everyone peace of mind. Available from many different service providers, an emergency alert system enables your parent to immediately contact a monitoring service in an emergency. Some systems offer two-way voice communication; others use a transmitter to send a prerecorded message. A call button on a pendant offers stroke survivors easy access. To find the right emergency alert system for your parent, search online using keywords such as medical emergency alert.

I think my question regarding this matter was if Medicaire or Medicaid cover any of the expense for a Medical Emergency alert. Thanks, BJ22

Hi BJ22, Thanks for your question. Each state runs its own version of Medicaid, with slightly different rules and coverage. To get one on one advice about Medicaid, contact a government health insurance counselor. You can find your local government health insurance counselor in our local directory:( http://www.caring.com/local/government-health-insurance-counselors ). If you'd like to learn more about Medicaid, check our our article How Medicaid Works: ( http://www.caring.com/articles/how-does-medicaid-work ) I hope that helps!
