Dead Box

My grandparents kept a box with all their end-of-life documents (living will, DNR, estate information, funeral arrangements, etc.) It also had a some photos and writings that they definitely wanted their posterity to have. They kept it in an easy-to-find place in their home for many years before they died. My grandmother started calling it the "dead box" and so the name stuck. She died 2 years ago and my grandfather died one week ago. We are all very grateful for the dead box now. Not only has it made financial and other decisions easier, but it helped us all prepare emotionally for that day when they'd both be gone.
