What To Do When a Loved One Is First Diagnosed With Cancer - Get the full To Do list

Use an appointment calendar.

How to Use a Calendar to Keep Track of Appointments, Medications, and Other Scheduling Issues

Use your smartphone or other electronic organizer -- or buy a simple portable datebook -- to keep track of all appointments you'll need to schedule, phone calls to return, errands to run, supplies to purchase, prescriptions to fill. You'll want something that includes an address book and a way to take notes. (A home calendar won't be good enough, because you'll be booking appointments and taking notes in the doctor's office.)

If more than one person is involved in your loved one's care, you may want to set up an online group calendar, also known as a care page. Online services such as Lotsa Helping Hands allow you to create a web page that everyone can access to keep track of who's doing what.
