Contact a pastor, priest, minister, rabbi, or other religious official to officiate, if desired.

How to contact a pastor, priest, minister, rabbi, or other religious official for a funeral or memorial service

If the deceased had a strong religious affiliation, it's common for a religious official -- particularly someone to whom he or she felt close -- to be invited to participate in after-death services by leading prayers or meditations or by officiating over the entire ceremony. (Survivors who have religious leanings may also find it helpful to contact a particular religious leader to offer comfort and support during the grieving period immediately after a death.)
