Some days, it just seems too much for her to figure out how to walk. She's like a dead weight when I pull her to the bathroom, which she also no longer seems to understand. It's very difficult for the caregiver, isn't it? .

The condition of being unable to walk does not necessarily mean that the person is bed-bound. Many demented patients have neuro-motor deficits that affect their ability to walk but may allow them to achieve mobility with a wheelchair. It is not always a linear progression. Would like to see you offer options for wheelchair bound patients who can still walk if given appropriate assistance.

My dad can walk most of the time but sometimes seems to get wobbly legs and can't walk.

Wow! I can admire those who are able to continue on after their loved one can no longer get around. Our house was not set up for a wheelchair or adding more space, so we had to make the difficult decision to put my father-in-law in a nursing home once he could no longer walk. He was in a specialized wing for memory loss, and they loved on him a lot, which eased my mind. I'm just glad my husband and I set our "threshold" for how much we would be able to handle before he got worse. We knew what we had to do, and didn't have to argue about it in the moment.
