HIV Womans Support Group

I wonder if my podiatrist did not want to do surgery on my foot because I am HIV+ or because he really did believe it was a condition that could no longer be treated with surgery. It is upsetting to think that! It IS in the back of my mind, however. I heard that the surgery is very painful and that I may have even more pain AFTER the surgery, which is what the specialist said may occur. And it will be chronic pain in my foot and possibly in my leg. So I am once again placing my faith and trust in the Lord to take care of my foot: that the condition does not worsen. I already have pain on that side of my foot and it is difficult to find comfortable shoes to wear, which is why I wear slippers and use gel inserts when I wear workout shoes! I also have arthritis in my toes on that foot and there is NOTHING he can do about that...just live with it. Does anyone have the same feeling that he may not want to do surgery because I am HIV+? He did refer me to a colleague of his for a second opinion, and I phoned that office with my info. They did not return my phone call to set up an appt. for a consultation and to review the X-rays...Since I am not going to have the surgery anyway, I've decided not to waste my time nor the "colleague Dr.'s" time. Anyone else have a similar situation? Please let me hear from you. Thanks!
