Less expensive assisted living arrangements?????

I have seen many seemingly beautiful assisted living homes advertised in Encinada and Rosarito, Mexico that are 1/3 the price of an average home in Los Angeles. Has anyone heard whether or not people have had successful experiences in them? Any advice? My mother is 88 and in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's. She has lived with me for 18 months but it's getting very difficult for me to care for her, and I can't afford the more expensive homes. I have heard that these places are park-like or on the beach and have wonderful licensed caregivers.
