Holiday Gifts for staff at assisted living facility
My father moved into an assisted living facility earlier this year. He does not require a lot of care and does not have dedicated nurses aides assisting him but does have medication administered, some assistance with daily tasks, and apartment cleaning services. Is it appropriate to give holiday gifts to the staff? Is one big gift to be shared by all staff the best bet?

I used to work in a retirement/assisted living facility for 8 years. Our residents had a committee that would take donations fron other residents and family all year, and build a "Holiday Fund' for the staff. We were not allowed to take individual gifts from residents. The committee based the bonuses on how long we worked there, and if we were full or part time workers. It worked out well for all concerned, and we as staff, felt very appreciated by our residents and their family.
If that isn't the case where your father is, In my opinion from working in a facility, a large fruit basket, flowers or a large box of candy to be shared by the staff is a great way to show how much you appreciate the staff.
