Life is to short "Stop and smell the Roses"
I am a sister in law that is a full time care giver for my mother in law. She is my best friend and lives next door. For 10yrs now I have been watching her change. She has Alz., dementia or what ever the family wants to call it. I go to every doctor visit and come home and tell my husband. He is VERY SUPPORTIVE of his mother and thanks me for caring for his mother while he works. His dad died in April 2010.
The month prior to his death he was talking to us making sure we (my husband & I) would take care of HIS WIFE. Popa made me promise we would take her to see the leaves change in the mountains. We live next Monday and Granny is so EXCITED! God has truly Blessed me to have such a wonderful mother in law, friend and grandmother for my son.
Thank you for this website.

God bless you and your family. It is indeed a wonderful thing that she has you and your husband to care for and about her. You are absolutely correct - please take time to stop and smell the roses and take nothing for granted because life is such a fleeting thing. My wife was diagnosed with leukemia in April, 2009 and passed away on August 11,2009. Your life can change in the blink of an eye so always take the extra time to enjoy life with your loved ones and show them every single day how much you love them. I have a wonderful mother in law also so I know exactly how fortunate you are in that way. I don't know where I would be if not for her love and support. She is having major health issues now but whenever she can, she is there for me and I for her. Please enjoy your trip to the mountains and again - God Bless you all.
