My Daddy was diagnosted with lung cancer ( his rheumatologist found a pancoast tumor when doing an x-ray of his shoulder) in Jan. 2007. He had complained with shoulder pain for months and finally went to the doctor. He thought it was his arthritis, but we learned that shoulder pain is a primary indicator of a pancoast tumor. He completed chemo and 35 of his 40 radiation treatments. He did exceptionally well with both - never any nausia, no weight loss, appetite stayed pretty good. I attribute this to the supplements that myself and my brother convinced him to take (Most pharmacists at health food-supplement pharmacies can direct you to the best for certain cancers). He was 76 yrs. old and it was not an easy sell, but he did it for us. I also purchased cases of chocolate flavored Ensure and Boost drinks, and he drank at least 2 a day.  I truly believe in the body's ability to heal itself if it is in God's plan.

As for your mother, her tastes will probably change greatly as she undergoes treatment.  My mother & I attended a class with Daddy prior to his beginning treatment.  The nurse advised staying away from his favorite foods, because after the treatments he wouldn't want them any more if he ate them and the taste was bad.  If she likes the Boost or Ensure drinks (try all of the flavors; she may just like one - my Daddy only liked the chocolate) and will drink at least 2 a day, they should provide the nutrition to get her through treatment.  I highly recommend consulting a pharmacist who specializes in herbal remedies.  The sooner you start her on these, the better she will do.  If she keeps her appetite, season her foods with cumin, garlic & other cancer fighting spices.  My mother's doctor had breast cancer several years ago and had surgery.  Then a few years later, she had ovarian cancer.  She opted not to have chemo or surgery and instead used herbs, supplements,  cups of of green tea all day long, and lots of prayers.  Her cancerous tumors disappeared.  This was about 7 years ago and she is cancer free and practicing today and  incorporates supplements in with her prescribed drugs.  I'm not at all saying that your mother doesn't need chemo, I'm just saying there is much more out there and available in addition to the standard treatments.

I know you wanted specific recipes, but there are so many fruits and vegetables out there with cancer fighting abilities that you should use them to your advantage in this battle.  Research them on the web.  Go to these links:  http://www.healingfoodreference.com/stomach_cancer.html[healingfoodreference.com]                                   and   http://www.healingfoodreference.com/cancer.html[healingfoodreference.com]                                                                     and  http://www.cancure.org/cancer_fighting_foods.htm[cancure.org]  and  http://www.cancertutor.com/Other/Colon_Cancer.html[cancertutor.com]

I pray that your mother heals from this horrible disease.

Hmm has anybody hear o0f Flax oil and cottage cheese diet! Or the word of a German Dr Johanna Budwig. many or most of her patients came to her after Chemo and radiation failed. Almost every type of cancer treated responded favorably! I know it is probably to simple But High Omega content flax oil needs the sulfur of the cottage cheese to really be activated within our systems.

Many of these people with cancers of all types some were give as little as eight to 24 hours to live after standard medical practices (Chemo and Radiation) were used and they recovered or their cancer went into remission! Go and read up on her material for yourself or for a loved one.

There are some who got better and the cancer returned the reason being we are creatures of habit and or rather bad habits we tend to want to go back to those bad eating habits. That got us into our mess before! Once you start using the flax oil it is a good idea to continue to use it for the rest of your life! And they talk about a "maintenance dose" with lesser amounts that must be continued after the treatment of the diet is over.

A clinic in Spain adapted her work and has a 95% cure rate for cancer know anybody in the the US with a cure rate like this? Read or check her out! Your or a loved ones li8fe may depend on it someday!

I'm sorry to hear about your mother. Check out my website called Juiceplus., www.juiceplus.com/+me06753, it's 17 fresh fruits, vegtables and grains in capsules. My wife was diagnosed with brain cancer 6 1/2 yrs ago and we had just started the juiceplus but she went through 19 months of chemo and 5 wks of radiation and did not have any vomiting the whole time. She was of coarse tired and weak but that was 6 years ago. Two months ago she had her last mri and the tumor is completely gone, yehhhaaa. She also stopped insulin injections, stopped taking her heart meds, blood pressure meds and some others. JuicePlus is the only thing out there that is approved by the FDA. Feel free to call me @214-405-6877 if you want to discuss this or email me @ juiceplusmje@hotmail and I can send you several articles from studies on jp.

I lost my mother to Ovarian Cancer Stage IV in December of 07, along with my stepfather who passed away with Lung Cancer that same year. All the chemo and radiation and pills and blood transfusions, and surgeries. They suffered greatly. I can only pray for your mother at this time. I cared for my mom for nine months until her passing alone with no other family member helping me, we lived in South Florida, and then Hospice Vitas came along at the end. She could not eat all or keep food down. My father who lives in South Florida is not well either. I pray for you and your mother and do what you have to do...
