I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE Supplement to "Relocating"
On 1/6/11, I posted the following:
I am a family caregiver for my 90 year old mother who has Stage II COPD, hip replacements and very high anxiety. We are planning to relocate to the Merced CA area. One of the main reasons for doing so is that I'll have a group of friends to help me with caring for mom and allow me to get out of the house more often. The much lower cost of living will help us immensely too. Does anyone see any issues with the move itself? Part of the move will be going over the grapevine which means going over a high elevation area. However the destination is around 150 foot elevation. Frankly, I'm more concerned about her anxiety and plan to administer proper medicine for such with her agreement.
It's now 1/10/11. We have given 30 days notice and been fighting every since then. Tonight, even though I cook everything, clean everything, perform medicine management, bathe her, take her to appointments which is no small feat, manage her money, the list could go on, that's not enough. I've been told I need to be nicer and more loving. Why is it that we caregivers have to keep doing everything everyday whether we feel like it or not then do it with a smile too? All I ever hear about from her mouth is her problems. I can't take it anymore!!!!
