be paid by Medi-Cal -- though not much -- as a home care aide. For you to get such payments, you'd have to be certified by the State of California as a licensed home care provider. To get certified, you have to go through training that meets state and Medi-Cal requirements. Such training is available for low fees at some local community colleges or adult schools. One place to start finding out about getting certified is your county's local social services agency; you can find them listed in the state government pages of the phone directory. Ask them about Medi-Cal caregiver certification. Or, you can use an Internet search engine -- in the search field, enter the words "Medi-Cal paid caregiver."
