I was diagnosed with breast cancer and I took a PET scan. Would a PET scan detect all cancers, including brain, bone and lung cancer if it's in my body?

My experience was that during treatment for cancer my oncologist ordered a PET scan to see if my breast cancer was a secondary cancer. The results showed thyroid cancer and the results on the test screen were amazing! The intravenous solution administered prior the PET scan adheres only to any cancerous cells within the body and areas that may be cancerous show up as black distinct spots. I, personally had no side effects from the scan but I was certainly happy to find additional cancer and have it treated immediately.
