The anti-inflammatory medication Humira is relatively new to the market, but does have a few competitors. Johnson & Johnson's medication "Remicade" is a competitor, but Humira currently comes out ahead as far as popularity among prescribing physicians. Enbrel is another popular medicine from the largest pharmaceutical company on the planet, Amgen. Humira is slowly growing in popularity over both of these competitors. Many attribute the popularity to the success Humira has in treating symptoms of arthritis patients, which is mainly who the medicine is designed to treat. Since Humira is somewhat new, it had a bit more time in the lab than these other medications to be worked on and brought to near-perfection.
