Q
What is the use for Symbicort 80/4.5?
Answers
A
Symbicort 80 / 4.5 Inhalation is a low dosage of budesondie and formoterol used to treat both asthma and COPD. Patients with moderate asthma would often be prescribed the 80 / 4.5 dosage of Symbicort; 2 puffs per day. There is also a higher dosage available: 160 / 4.5 that is prescribed for more sever asthmatics. It is recommended to use Symbicort for a short-term basis (often 6 - 12 months), to stabilize a patient's asthma. Once the patient is stabilized then it is recommended that the patient switch to a cortico-steriod inhaler for long-term usage. Dosage and length of usage needs to be discussed by the patient and physician.Reference: www.symbicort.com
