For most people, there are generally no adverse effects once Lipitor is no longer taken. Now on the other hand, according to the American Heart Accociation, researchers found that people who had an ischemic stroke had much worse outcomes if their statins were abruptly discontinued. It is recommended that the user discontinue usage under the guidance of a physician. There have been reports of cognitive memory issues arising (or not going away) after Lipitor is no longer taken.
