What are possible complications from a broken hip?
The possible complications of a broken hip, or most commonly known as a hip fracture are, pain, osteoporosis, death, assisted living for an indefinite period of time, difficulty bending over or coughing, weakened, fragile or stressed bones. Death only occurred within 12 months of the fracture, in 24% of those individuals who were over the age of 50. The death however had nothing to do with the fracture itself but, with the complications of the fracture.
