Can uterine cancer metastasize to the brain?
Metastasize means that the cancer has spread outside of its original organ or area. Once cancer metastasizes, it becomes much harder to cure. Yes, uterine cancer can spread to the brain. Uterine cancer can spread outside the uterss to the fallopian tubes, lymph nodes, groin, and pelvis. At that point it's not uncommon for it to then spread to the abdomen, bones, lungs, liver and eventually, the brain. Each year, 3,000 women die of uterine cancer. Early treatment is of course the best prevention. Although there is no known specific cause, keeping your weight down and not smoking will lower your risk factors in avoiding uterine cancer.
