Yes, urinary tract infections can cause blood clots in some cases. Blood clots that appear in the urine are actually usually the direct result of a urinary tract infection, or UTI. My sister gets blood clots in her urine every time she has a urinary tract infection, which she is somehow predisposed to getting. They are not overly large, but they are visible in her urine. You should notify your physician if you have a blood clot in your urine as they may want to have you come in to formally diagnosis you with a urinary tract infection and ensure you do not have another issue.
