What is teratoma testicular cancer?
I was reading about teratoma testicular cancer on the American Cancer Society website.
Teratomas are a type of germ cell tumor. When you look at them under a microscope, they look like the three layers of a developing embryo (endoderm, mesoderm, and ectoderm). There are mature teratomas that are usually benign tumors that rarely spread, and there are immature teratomas that are less developed, cancerous, and more likely to grow and spread to surrounding tissues outside the testicle. It sounds like immature teratoma testicular cancer sometimes comes back.
