I'm a 85yr-old female who is in good health but often get teary eyes. What could be causing it?

Oddly enough, teary eyes are usually caused by dry eyes, as your eyes will try to overcompensate for their dryness by producing more tears. You can try some over the counter eye drops to moisten your eyes to see if that helps.
If your eyes are red, itchy, swollen, or painful, please go see an opthalmologist, as this may be a sign of an infection or allergy that needs attention.
