Tax information for seniors

My grandmother owns a home that her mother left her. The home is in good condition and able to rent but thru her kindness she allowed people to live there without paying rent. She was not able to pay the taxes and now owes over $2,000 in back taxes. I have read the lawyer's letter and $1,000 of that is just lawyer fees. We live in Texas and I would like any information you can provide. Thanks for your time.
