How can I get my parents to simplify their affairs before something happens?
Unfortunately, free will is really powerful. I don't have the exact same situation as you, but there are so many things I try to convince my parents to do for their own good. They basically smile and nod then do what they want. It sounds like your parents are in the same boat. Personally, I tend to revisit the topic every now and then, but nagging drives us all nuts. Maybe the next time you visit, have a sit-down-at-the-kitchen-table kind of talk about your concerns and tell then that when they're ready to make changes, you're there to help. Good luck!
