triples if a person's mother, father, sister, or brother had the disease, I worried about my dad because he’s an alcoholic. What I found is that most studies have not found a link between alcohol use and pancreatic cancer. But heavy alcohol use can raise the risk of diabetes and chronic pancreatitis, which are risk factors for pancreatic cancer. Also people with cirrhosis, which is often caused by heavy alcohol consumption, have an increased risk for pancreatic cancer. I didn’t find information speaking specifically about whether wine consumption can cause pancreatic cancer, but since I’d posted this information in response to a similar question, I thought I’d share it here.
