I came across some information about whether asbestos exposure causes pancreatic cancer when a close family member was diagnosed and I did some research. What I found is that exposure to certain chemicals—some pesticides, dyes, chemicals used in metal refining, and chemicals related to gasoline—can increase the risk of developing pancreatic cancer. But, as yet, studies seem to indicate that asbestos exposure does not cause pancreatic cancer (though it can cause lung cancer and mesothelioma).
