My wife may be diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis.
The doctor is wanting to prescribe Celebrex but the side effects do not look good at all. Her pain in her right hand and wrist are very bad and right now she is taking hydroco APAP7.5-325 which does a good job but she definitely needs one every 4 hours. Is that a drug that should not be taken for a long period of time?
I am sure that Celebrex is not good to take a long time but she probably will need to take something for a long time as she is 74 and has high blood pressure, under control; diabetes, under control; high cholesterol, not able to take the steroidal meds therefore it is always high. She is probably about 30 to 40 pounds too heavy but that does not change and probably won't if the past is any sign as she watches her diet pretty well but never loses over 4 to 5 pounds at any given time and then back up to about 175 and she is 5 ft 3 or 4. She has a bit of osteo I believe as she is humped a little bit in the shoulders.
