What is the best way to care for my parents who require different type of care?

My mother and stepfather still live at home and we have 24 hour in home care for them. My mother has Alzheimer's and will likely have to be moved to a facility in the near future. I will require considerable financial aid to keep them in separate locations. He would remain at home with 24 hour care and she would go to a facility. I am unsure how this would work as it I fear they will look at total income in their household but it would be minimal available for her care as most will go to his. His retirement is MUCH larger than hers. It would obviously be imperative they both receive care but in separate locations. Please advise who or how I should proceed to obtain this information. thank you
