How can I get financial assistance for my mother?

My mother (60) will be moving in with me here in Florida this June. Are there programs (financial assistance & prescription) that I can access to help cover some of her medical expenses. I am attempting to add her as a dependent with the VA (I am a service connected disabled vet on VocRehab). She is on 12 different medications, has a multitude of health problems and is bipolar. Any assistance would be great! thanks
