How do I handle my mother with Alzheimer's when she forgets who I am?

My mom is living with me she has dementia,she has recently started to forget who I am,I am with her all day and then all of a sudden she gets upset and says wheres Nancy (this is me)I have sometimes gone out the door and walked back in just to say its me.I dont know how to handle this sometimes,I handle it allright whenn she did not remember other people but now that its me it upsets me.Any ideas on how I can handle this better?
