My Mom and I lived together for over five years in a house deeded in her name. We were together so I could help care for her. About a year and a half ago, she went to an assisted living facility (utilizing her long term care policy). She requested that I remain in the home to maintain and care for it. I pay all the bills, except the property tax. The house has been left to me in the will. Should I do anything else to protect the house for myself? Should I have my name on the deed?
