My father died about a year ago. I was estranged from my sister who was the executer of our father's estate. I only began talking with my sister a few months back. My brother, who lived with my father, basically robbed my father of the money and other assets he had around the house. I essentially received not a penny from the estate which appears to been divided between my brother and sister. I have now received a bill from the Dept. of Health Care Services (Medi-Cal) in California regarding a creditor's claim on the estate of my father demanding that I remit payment in full for over $17,000.00. I don't even live in California. I've been robbed of my inheritance and now I get a bill? Am I responsible for this?
