Will Medicaid cover a temporary placement in an extra-care facility after surgery?

My 86-year-old mom is waiting to have a colonoscopy and external hemorrhoid repair (I'm not sure which procedure will be used for the repair). She's in assisted living and they seem to be willing to help with the colonoscopy prep. My concern is about recovery from the hemorrhoid repair. From what I read this may be 2-3 weeks and Mom is very dependent on a walker. She's on medicare and I wondered if it would be reasonable to ask for temporary placement in an extra-care facility after her surgery. Her asst. lvg. home may not agree to helping to the extent I'm projecting. Anyone have experience with this surgery and the after care required? Thanks to everyone.
