Your doctor would have to tell you about that. Working in a nursing home for years, I worked with many residents who had suffered from a broken hip. I know See also:

for a long time, at least a month, the patient couldn't even, by doctor's orders, lay on the broken hip side. Please keep in mind many of these people were older. We could sit the resident in a chair by using a lift but they were NOT to put any weight on the hip at all. When the doctor said it was alright, most of the residents had therapy for walking for quite a while. We were told that to put weight on a broken hip could do damage that couldn't be fixed. Please ask your doctor as it may depend on a lot of things like your overall health, were the hip was broken, etc. For your health and safety sake, please don't jump the gun!
