Wellbutrin XL (extended release) and Wellbutrin SR (sustained release)is the brand name for the generic drug bupropion in the United States. In Canada, only Wellbutrin SR has a generic form.

When getting a generic for Wellbutrin, make sure they are giving you buPROPion, as mention above. Many pharmacies well give buDEPrion instead but my doctor says there's a big difference between the two and he has no idea why pharmacies continue to do this.
