Patients tend to prefer the Humira pen over the Humira syringe because the pen is easier to use. The pen is a pre-filled syringe injector, where the patient just needs to push the button to have the medicine injected into them. The regular syringe requires a patient to manually inject the medication into them. The auto injection is considered by many to be easier and less painful because it happens so quickly. Others prefer the syringes because they can control the process more. There is no medical reason that one should be used over the other, although some very thin people do better with the syringe.
