Many drugs can be passed from the mother to a nursing infant through breastfeeding. Plavix (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0000040)hasn't been shown to do so yet for humans but it has been found to do so for other animal species in laboratory testing. Therefore you should not breastfeed while taking Plavix. Consult with your doctor whether its better to stop taking Plavix while breastfeeding or to continue taking the drug and use a breast milk substitute.
