Humira is not a medication that is purposely made for treating sarcoidosis. However, Humira has been found effective in treating sarcoidosis in some instances. Sarcoidosis is a disease in which inflammation occurs in the glands and lymph nodes. Humira is commonly used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and other diseases that cause inflammation. Humira is not FDA approved for the treatment of sarcoidosis, however it has shown to be effective in some patients. There is not a lot of research behind this in the United States, however in Holland it is common to use Humira to treat sarcoidosis if no other medication is working.
