Can a person inherit pancreatic cancer?

I don’t know if “inherit” is the accurate way to put it, but like the person who posted that question, I too was concerned about whether pancreatic cancer is hereditary when my uncle was diagnosed. What I found is that the risk for developing it triples if a person's mother, father, sister, or brother had the disease. The American Cancer Society’s web site has very accessible information about genetic syndromes linked to pancreatic cancer that will give you more specifics about whether a person can “inherit” pancreatic cancer.
