I'm 17. My father died when I was 14, and I've lived with my mom since. My parents were never married, and I lived alone with him in the time of his passing. I know want to move out of my mom's house because I'm 17 and legally allowed to do so. I am filing a petition for the removal of disability of minority. I am wondering if my father's social security will either follow me until my highschool graduation, or if it will stay with my mother? Or since I'm moving out will it end all together? Please give me any and all information. Thank you so much.

Curious. Recently I've been getting a number of questions about social security payments. I am not knowledgeable about social security, and do not know the answers. I do not know the answer to your question. I hope that your father's social security check will go to your until your graduation from high school. That surely seems fair. But all I can suggest is thjt you call social security and try to get an answer from them.
