I have been diagnosed with mestastic breast cancer. I was first diagnosed in October of 2006. I underwent chemo to shrink the tumor then herceptin instead of opting for surgery. My question is if I have a family history of breast cancer that ended with two sisters dying after surgery and chemo/radiation prior to the fifth year mark and a father living with mestastic prostate cancer to the bone for 10 years. am I foolish to opt not to have the surgery? I am also taking Arimidex daily.
