What are the recommended treatments for stress incontinence in women?

I am wondering what are the recomended treatments for stress incontinence in women and what have shown to be most effective? I am a 53 year old woman and for years I have had this problem. In the last year the problem is getting worse so now I try to avoid physical activities like going for walks or dancing which I used to enjoy on weekends.
