How rare is testicular cancer?
I wondered how rare testicular cancer is, too. I found an interesting page of statistics on The American Cancer Society website.
They say there are about 8,400 new cases of testicular cancer diagnosed in the U.S. each year, and about 380 men will die annually in the U.S. of testicular cancer.
Apparently, the rate has been increasing (although the rate of increase has lately been slowing), and experts don't know why. Still, it's fairly uncommon. Your chances of getting it in your lifetime is about 1 in 300. And your risk of dying from it is about 1 in 5,000.
