How is the Humira syringe used?
To use the Humira syringe make sure it's at room temperature first. Wash your hands, then chose the site for your injection either on the thigh or stomach (avoiding 2 inches around your navel). Wipe the injection site with the alcohol swab. Remove the needle cover and hold it upwards then gently push the plunger in to push the air in the syringe out through the needle till liquid is at the top. Grab the clean area of skin with a two inch fold between your index finger and thumb then while holding the syringe at a 45 degree angle to the skin and quickly push the needle all the way into your skin. After the needle is in use the hand holding the skin to let go of the skin and hold the glass part of the syringe, gently pull back on the plunger a bit, and if you see no blood slowly push the plunger in to inject the Humira. When the medicine is injected remove the needle, dispose of it properly and hold a cotton ball to the site to help prevent any bleeding.
On the rare chance there is blood when you pulled back on the plunger a bit before injection then you need to restart with a new syringe and new site because you hit a blood vessel and you do not want to inject into your blood.
